The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC is called “the wall that heals.” Open 24 hours per day, the memorial honors and lists the 58,000 Americans who lost their lives in the line of duty to our country.
Located near the intersection of 22nd Street and Constitution Avenue, the memorial is free and open to the public and also includes “The Three Servicemen” statue as well as the Vietnam Women’s Memorial at its site. Rangers are available at the memorial each day from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. for questions and interpretive programs.
Visitors may leave objects and offerings in honor of the soldiers at the memorial and some may be preserved in the memorial’s collections. Please review the memorial’s policy regarding its collections and voluntary donations prior to bringing an offering.
The Vietnam Memorial is also close to the Lincoln Memorial where you can purchase books and educational souvenirs at the bookshop.
