Shaw Shangri-La is a spacious 3-bedroom townhouse that can accommodate up to 5 guests, and features three bedrooms located on the 2nd floor, one with a King size bed, one with a Queen size bed and one with a Twin size bed. The full bath is also located on the 2nd floor of the home. This townhouse also features a fully equipped kitchen, which is great for preparing light meals or for those who prefer not to dine out for every meal. The dining room makes a great place to gather for meals or for family game night! Relax after a long day of sightseeing in the comfortable living room or, put your feet up, relax on the outdoor patio and enjoy the evening air!
Wireless internet, cable TV and Roku are also included. As an added bonus, laundry facilities are available, which are great for those longer term stays!
This home is less than a 5-minute walk to the Shaw Howard Metro Station (Green/Yellow Line). Those on business can get to the Washington Convention Center in 1 stop, or if you would like to enjoy the beautiful tree lined streets, you can walk in about 12-15 minutes. If you are here for some sightseeing, hop on the Metro (direct access) down to the National Mall, Smithsonian Museums, Historic Monuments, Art Galleries, U.S. Capitol, U.S. Supreme Court and more! Guests also enjoy the easy access to Howard University and Howard Hospital. You can also choose the Metro Bus or Circulator Bus to explore all that Washington D.C. has to offer!
On the U Street Corridor, about a 15 minute walk, you will find several restaurants, boutiques, grocery stores and theatres. Stop in and visit Ben’s Chili Bowl, Le Diplomate, Matchbox, Whole Foods Market, Trader Joe’s, Howard Theatre, U Street Music Hall and more!
Check in time is after 4:00 p.m. and check out is by 11:00 a.m. promptly. In some cases, you may be able to arrange an earlier time for luggage drop off. Please contact the reservation service to inquire.
Rates are seasonal with Spring and Fall being peak seasons for our area. A three-night minimum reservation is required at all times. Rates do not include a $150 cleaning fee, the 14.5% DC lodging taxes or the $10 reservation fee. All of our homes are smoke free. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate guest pets.

An excellent Airbnb. The location is very central and right next to the 'hip' Shaw area. The accommodation is lovely, and we had everything we needed nearby. The owners were very responsive and easy to communicate with. A very good experience all round!
This is a great place to stay! The beds were comfortable, the linens were good quality, and the living spaces were great for entertaining our family. The furniture was comfortable, the rooms were very nicely decorated. The house was sparkling clean. The house was close to restaurants and a nice grocery store. Very quiet neighborhood at night. Everything was just about perfect!
Great place in a great neighborhood! Steve, Tracy and Katch were very responsive and accommodating to any and all our questions. I booked this for a work trip and stayed with colleagues and we all really liked it.
Wonderful stay. Terrific neighborhood for families. We value peace and quiet, and the neighborhood was perfect. Hip restaurants and bars within walking distance and quiet at night. I highly recommend!
My coworkers and had I stayed here while we were in town for a conference at the convention center. The house is about a 10 min walk to the convention center and made the commute super easy. There are bunch of restaurants/coffee shops/supermarkets blocks away so we had everything we needed! The house is on a beautiful, quiet block. Steve, Tracy and Katch accommodated our early check-in and were responsive before/during our stay. I'd definitely recommend.
Location, Location, Location!!! We enjoyed short trips (3 blocks) to the metro station and our kids loved the park at the nearby recreation center. The house was beautiful, well-maintained, had plenty of character, and the owners were great at communicating. I would definitely recommend this property to everyone looking for a great place to stay in DC as it is extremely accessible to all the sites, is very kid friendly, and is reasonably priced. We will certainly be returning to DC to stay at this property!
Fantastic location in Shaw. Perfect lodging for our family of fives' fall break in DC. Really short walk to the Shaw metro which connects to a yellow or green train straight to the Mall. We walked home from the Mall each night--long for the kids but good to see the city and exercise. Great eateries nearby, Beau Tie and Dacha were favorites. Having a grocery store and coffee a stone's throw away were very convenient. Beds were all comfy as were the linens. Charming old townhome on a sweet little street.
