Nice unit and the location is near lots of restaurants and bars on H street. The owners were great to deal with- fast accurate response and provided very clear communication. There was lots of written information in the unit and the check in process was simple. We booked at the last minute because a prior host cancelled on us. Steve, Tracy and Katch were great and we can't thank them enough for their fast response. The unit was clean and just as described on the website.
The Pilgrims Guest House was a great location just a block off of H street. Very easy to get around from here. Parking is available if you need it.
My family of 5 (with a mother in law) had other plans for Spring Break which were derailed due to bad weather and had to make quick adjustments to our agenda and decided to come to DC (from Texas.) We had less than 24 hours to find new accommodations and since we always use VRBO, that's where our search started. I located this very lovely walk up which was reasonably priced and only little over a mile from Union Station. When we arrived (pretty late,) everything was ready for us. The check-in instructions were super easy. The next morning, we were elated to realize that Whole Foods was a block away along with many little cafes and coffee shops. The walk to Union Station was absolutely stunning (walking through little neighborhoods.) We made that walk 2-3 times a day. Even though the house has only one bathroom, there was plenty of hot water for all of us at the end of the day. The place was relatively clean and all of the necessary amenities were available. If we ever come back into town, this is definitely the place I will look up again. Oh and one last thing.....I have stayed in many such places and check-out instructions can be quite daunting. Our hosts made it very easy and simple with less than half a page of instructions.
My family had a wonderful vacation in WASHINGTON DC and this home was roomy, comfortable and ideally located near the Mall with all its amazing museums and monuments. H street offers lots of restaurants and two grocery stores in walking distance. The H St. street car brings one directly to Union Station and the X2 bus cuts right through downtown to the White House. We loved the experience and the neighborhood and the reception.
Cozzy, quiet and comfortable. I recommend it!
