Lupe's Haven

$200 - $300

Lupe's Haven, Queen bedroom, 2nd floor

Townhouse in Washington, D.C.

          7th and A Street SE

Our Home

Make Lupe's Haven your home away from home while here in our nation's Capitol. Visitors enjoy a private two-story townhouse with comfortable accommodations for up to 4 guests. We are about a 5-minute walk to the Eastern Market Metro station, with access to the Blue/Orange/Silver lines. Eastern Market, Washington's oldest operating market is a little over 2 blocks away offering fresh meats, produce, dairy, baked goods and prepared foods. Sightseeing on the National Mall is close by, with the Library of Congress, Supreme Court and U.S. Capitol within walking distance.

The Accommodations

There are 2 bedrooms in the townhouse, both located on the second floor. The first bedroom is furnished with a Queen-sized bed and overlooks A Street and the front patio/garden. The second bedroom is on the back of the townhouse, furnished with a double bed. Bringing a little one?  We also offer a pack-n-play.  The bathroom, with tub and shower combination, is between the 2 bedrooms. The first floor has the living, dining and kitchen areas. The kitchen offers full size appliances including refrigerator, stove with double ovens, microwave and dishwasher. A breakfast bar offers casual dining or a small table opens for a more traditional place to dine. The living area is in the front of the townhouse, furnished with a loveseat and 2 chairs. A large flat screen TV is mounted over a decorative fireplace and features sound bar and surround speakers. Note: TV reception is by digital air signal; cable or satellite is not offered. Wireless Internet is available throughout the townhouse. An additional 1/2 bath is also located on this first floor. A bonus to many homes in DC, we have a lovely front patio with chairs and grill, a perfect oasis in the city.

The Neighborhood

The Eastern Market neighborhood of Capitol Hill is one of Washington's most desired neighborhoods. Walking is a pleasure with tree lined streets, generous sidewalks, and short distances to many restaurants, coffee shops, public transportation, and several of the sights. Eastern Market, Washington's oldest operating market, is just a couple blocks away. The market offers fresh prepared foods, meats, dairy, produce and baked goods, plus on weekends is home to one of the largest flea and craft markets in the area.

The Details

Check in time is after 4:00 p.m. We can sometimes accommodate an earlier arrival, depending on other reservations in place for the property. Check out time is no later than 11:00 a.m. If you are traveling to DC with a car, we can provide a visitor's guest pass that will allow for street parking. Street parking is first come first serve and is not guaranteed as a reserved space. Street regulations must still be adhered to, for instance, street cleaning days require a vehicle to be moved during certain hours of the day.

Rates are seasonal with Spring and Fall being peak seasons for our area.  A three-night minimum reservation is required at all times.  Rates do not include a $100 cleaning fee, the 14.5% DC lodging taxes or the $10 reservation fee.  All of our homes are smoke free.  Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate guest pets.

After using this company for last three years I have finally found the perfect place to stay! Everything is exactly as described in the photographs and write up. The location is simply perfect with everything you could possibly need well within walking distance. The neighborhood is peaceful, beautiful and friendly. I couldn't complain about something here if I tried. Ok... I suppose I'll blame you for the rain the first two days!!! I can not wait to re-book and re-use this company AND this rental. Thank you! Lupe's Haven

We spent 5 nights at this charming townhouse in October. We felt right "to home" as soon as we walked in. The location was perfect to see all of DC. After a full day of sightseeing there were many restaurants within walking distance to enjoy. This would also be a great location for a business trip which we will likely utilize in the future. The neighborhood was very safe and friendly. There were maps and directions at the home which were of great help for our sightseeing adventures. Highly recommend to anyone planning a trip to DC. Awesome location

Very clean and well appointed house on a quiet street. Only a few blocks from Eastern Market, playgrounds, restaurants and the Capitol. The home is small, but we didn't spend much time there since there were so many fantastic things to do close by. We did have a car, but parking wasn't difficult in the neighborhood. The owners had a great map hanging in the kitchen with photos highlighting the main attractions in the area - very nice touch! August 26, 2016 Sarah (Guest)

Super Location!

My husband and I stayed for 4nights and thoroughly enjoyed the house. The front garden and BBQ were a definite plus as was the AC! We recommend using capital share bikes for any trips away from the home and grabbing metro back - Very convenient ways to see all the sites. Eastern market is good for specialty items but Safeway is a short bike ride away. Avoid capital foods - really expensive and often prices aren't marked. Great photo opportunities throughout the neighborhood, with very friendly people always willing to help. Would highly recommend, the house is well equipped with laundry, soap, really was a home away from home. August 26, 2016 MAry (Guest)

Great location that was exactly as advertised!

Awesome place for my wife and I and my two young sons to visit Washington DC. I flew to Reagan National and took the Metro to the closest station to the property. I was apprehensive about not renting a car, but the B and B Co. manager of the property assured me it was not necessary. They were right. Even rolling suitcases from the Eastern Market Metro station to Lupe's Haven was a breeze. The townhouse was complete with so many little "extras", such as the reference library chock full of Washington DC "tourist" material. It also had very "minor" conveniences like pens, paper, screwdrivers, EXTENSIVE staples in the kitchen. I think there were a couple cans of chicken broth in the pantry... didn't need them... but if I did??? Place was clean, ready-made bed linens, lots of towels, etc., etc. I was nervous about not having any cable/direct TV. Wasn't a problem at all. The hi-speed wi-fi streamed my Netflix account for my kids and the broadcast channels were decent and extensive. Thank you!! I would gladly stay again if I came back to our again! Lupe's Haven

The house was adequate for our trip to DC. The lack of cable TV was disappointing, and some of the furniture could stand an upgrade. The area was interesting, we walked to the Metro every morning, walked to the Capitol, so the location was perfect for our needs. We were able to prepare our meals in the fully equipped kitchen, and even grilled out a couple of times, the steaks from Eastern Market were wonderful. Overall we were pleased with the property, it made our week in DC with a couple of teenagers much more tolerable than a motel room, and actually living on Capitol Hill and experiencing that life was a pleasent surprise. Thanks for your review and feedback. So glad you enjoyed your time in Washington, and got to enjoy our wonderful neighborhood. We do list that cable is not provided with our listing, but look into how we can make that more clear an up front for guests.
