As you search for vacation home rentals in Washington D.C. for your next trip, this Capitol Hill apartment may just be the answer. This English-style basement level one-bedroom apartment is located at 5th St. & E St. NE on Capitol Hill, just 4 blocks from Union Station and the Red Line Metro.
This one bedroom apartment features a Queen-size bed in the bedroom and a Queen-size sleeper sofa (modern air over springs) in the living area. The living area has cable TV, DVD Player, books, movies and games. A private full bathroom is located off of the bedroom. The fully equipped kitchen is great for budget-minded travelers who want to cook light meals and who prefer not to dine out for each meal. Long term guests will enjoy the use of the washer and dryer. Conveniently, there is a small grocery 4 blocks from the apartment and a large supermarket 5 blocks from the apartment. For those guests visiting D.C. with children, the Stanton Park Playground is a quick 2 block walk! This area is great for runners and walkers – especially if you head towards the Capitol.
Guests can take in the sights of Washington D.C. as they walk to the National Mall in approximately 15-20 minutes. While you’re visiting, stop and dine out on Pennsylvania Avenue, just a short walk away. Closely located to Union Station (a 10 minute walk from the apartment), the Red Line Metro takes you to Dupont Circle, the National Zoo, the Naval Observatory, the White House and more! Guests also enjoy easy access to the Omni Shoreham and Marriott Wardman Convention Hotels. Guests may also choose the Metro bus or the Circulator bus for easy access in and around D.C. You can also choose to use Uber, Zipcar or Car2go and if you would like to take a bike ride, there are several Capital Bikeshare stations nearby.
The H Street corridor is very lively, with a lot of restaurants, boutiques and shopping galore. Guests can also enjoy the variety along Massachusetts Avenue, or stop at Union Station and grab a bite to eat at Chipotle, Johnny Rockets, Pizzeria Uno, Sakura Japan or Bojangles’, just to name a few!
Check in time is after 4:00 p.m. and check out time is 11:00 a.m. promptly. In some cases, you may be able to arrange for an earlier check in or luggage drop off, please check with a reservation specialist.
Should guests require parking, the owners can obtain an on-street parking permit for 1 car at no additional charge.
Rates are seasonal with Spring and Fall being peak seasons for our area. A three-night minimum reservation is required at all times. Rates do not include a $75 cleaning fee, the 14.95% DC lodging taxes or the $10 reservation fee. All of our homes are smoke free. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate guest pets.

This apartment had everything we needed for an 8-night stay. Cozy living room, and table for eating meals. Full kitchen. Comfortable bed. As noted, it's a 10-minute walk to the Union Station Metro stop. Easy 4-block walk to Whole Foods and CVS. We would stay here again.
A well appointed apartment in an excellent location, within an easy walk to Union Station. It's a pity that the wifi signal does not extend to the sleeping area, an issue that could be easily fixed. Ellen, the owner, was extremely helpful with directions to various places of interest.
Steve, Tracy, and Katch's place is perfect! Wonderful hosts, great location, plenty of space, quiet, just everything you could ask for. I highly recommend it!
This basement apartment was perfect in every way for us. With its leafy, quiet location so close to Union Station and the National Mall, its cosy living room, comfortable bedroom and thoughtfully equipped kitchen, bathroom and laundry, it has everything a traveller needs and then some. We would return to stay at the Guest Quarters in a heartbeat.
Excellent location. This place was only 3 to 4 city blocks to Union Station. The basement apartment is as pictured and very clean. There is a washer and dryer available to a Krueger where decaf as well as regular coffee sections are available. Unlike the average basement apartment on Capital Hill the entrance to the apartment was very accessible and the stairs were not steep. Additionally the basement apartment was visible from the street and convenient to locate. The neighborhood was quiet despite being on the same block as an elementary school and close to Union Station. I would definitely book this particular place again.

The apartment was cozy and comfortable. The location was close to the mall. The neighborhood was quaint, which made the walks pleasurable. We enjoyed our stay and will book there again when we come to DC.
