Free H Street Trolley to Union Station is in easy walking distance. On-site parking space is small, but very handy. Full kitchen including washer/drier.
Good place for the value and location in D.C.
I submitted a (favorable) review for this apartment in the H Street/Atlas area some time ago. We have stayed here several times since, over the last three years, usually in November & December. Nothing has changed. The apartment is always clean and well-maintained. The water is always hot and the cable TV & WiFi still work great. Except this time, I wanted to note that the floor looked really good, like the owner re-finished it. Outstanding.
The Art Gallery Apartment was perfect for our family. With 2 bedrooms, 1 futon and 1 bathroom it fit our family of 5 which included 2 kids and 1 mother in law. The owner is a great host who not only met us upon arrival, he parked the car for us. I have a VW Atlas and it was a very tight fit, so bigger cars probably won't fit. The owner even called and checked on us during our stay. The only reason I'm giving it 4 starts and not 5 is because I thought the neighborhood was a little sketchy. I'm not familiar with DC neighborhoods, but there were bars on all the windows and doors. Also, we took the DC Streetcar 1 time and there were a few homeless people on it. We stuck with Uber after that which was super easy. Location was great being 6 min Uber ride from Union station and we took the Metro a lot while downtown. Also just note that this unit is on the first floor and there are neighbors upstairs. We did hear them come in late at night 2 times, but we were able to go right back to sleep.
100 % recommended!
We just spent 5 weeks at the Art Gallery apartment. It was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The host was most responsive in fixing a maintenance issue right away. It was easy to take either the bus (X8) or the H Street Trolley to Union Station to catch Metro and go anywhere in the district. We enjoyed the back deck and it was a real treat to have a gas grill to use. The off street parking was also a big plus. The apartment is only about 3 blocks from a Safeway and 2 blocks from the H Street corridor with lots of great little restaurants to try. We would definitely stay here again.
