A True Home Away from Home

We just spent 5 weeks at the Art Gallery apartment. It was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The host was most responsive in fixing a maintenance issue right away. It was easy to take either the bus (X8) or the H Street Trolley to Union Station to catch Metro and go anywhere in the district. We enjoyed the back deck and it was a real treat to have a gas grill to use. The off street parking was also a big plus. The apartment is only about 3 blocks from a Safeway and 2 blocks from the H Street corridor with lots of great little restaurants to try. We would definitely stay here again. Great Place to Stay with a Family!

My parents, two children (ages 10 and 12) and I stayed at the Art Gallery Apartment while in D.C. to tour the sights. We were more than pleased with our accommodations. The apartment itself is cozy and clean. The two beds were very comfortable and the linens were bright white and smelled good. The apartment had room for all 5 of us to relax and eat meals. The kitchen was furnished nicely and we really appreciated the washer and dryer which allowed us pack lighter for the trip. As for the location, it really worked well for us. There is a free (for the summer) streetcar located two blocks away that went to Union Station. From Union Station, we could ride the Big Bus tour bus or find many other options to take us to the sights. We did also use Uber services from the apartment, which was usually a $12-$17 ride to the National Mall area. We felt very safe in the quiet neighborhood of the Art Gallery Apartment and would recommend it to anyone visiting D.C. It was a great place to unwind and relax after long days of sightseeing. Finally, we enjoyed chatting with the apartment owner, who was very accommodating and friendly. August 26, 2016 Keri (Guest)

This apartment was perfect

This apartment was perfect for my friend and I. It is roomy and the beds are comfortable. Although we didn't cook we were glad we had the full kitchen if we needed it. I am already recommending it to others for when they travel to DC Thanks to Paul for being so accomodating and helpful! I will stay here again!!! May 19, 2016 Kristi Davis (Guest)

Perfect :)

We stayed at the art gallery apartment for three nights in May 2015. It's a beautiful house with very tasteful interiors. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the kitchen is extremely well-equipped. The host Mr. Seth is a gem-of-a-person. On our first day he offered a ride to a nearby grocery store and even reserved a cab to the airport on the day of departure. The neighborhood is upscale and very safe. Travel to the union station by cab takes about 8-10 minutes and costs around 8-10$. A X8 bus-stop is located very close to the apartment and the bus service is very reliable. Overall extremely happy to have stayed here with my family and would gladly return during my next visit to DC. December 1, 2015 Raj (Guest)

We loved the Art Gallery Apartment!

We loved the Art Gallery Apartment! It was just elegant enough with super comfy beds and just the right amenities. The towels smelled awesome - so wish I knew what they washed them in:) The main room is very large, very well appointed and comfortable. The kitchen is small but has everything you need. The stack washer and dryer was great too. After a very hot day of sightseeing washing our clothes was a great perk. It is in a very pretty, safe area, too. The apartment is best for just four people. Anything we asked of our host he provided immediately. He dropped in to say hello - but wasn't overbearing at all. The parking area in the back is very small. We had a Chevy Traverse and gave up on getting it in there, so our host got us a street parking pass quickly. We were told many larger cars than ours have successfully gotten in there but we don't know how. The traffic in DC was horrible and often we said we should have just planned on taxi's or the metro because it would have been easier. Parking near the monuments / Smithsonian, etc. is next to impossible. The apartment isn't close enough to walk to those places, but the taxi ride would not be very expensive. The apartment is an easy drive from downtown though if you do have a car - just rent a smaller one:) The deck is great though we didn't spend much time on it, so busy running around to wedding festivities.
