Excellent experience

Clean, quite, and 25 minutes to DC. I had the opportunity to stay at Alexandra suites for three months. Mrs Nina was very helpful and mindful of my privacy. Closer to shopping then I expected on a quite cultasack. The room had everything one would need for a short stay and more. Thanks again Nina.. Stephen. March 5, 2017 Stephen vozzelli (Guest)

The Perfect Home Away From Home

I cannot say enough nice things about Ms. Nina or the pleasant experience we had staying in her guest suite. My husband and I recently moved to the area in the spring of this year (2016), and we needed a longer term place to stay that 1) Wasn't a hotel that we would have to move in and out of every few days, and 2) Was more affordable than a D.C. Area apartment. Either of those options can get really expensive really fast. This room, however, not only fit our budget comfortably, but we also felt safe and secure staying there while shopping for our first home. Ms. Nina is one of the nicest and most hospitable people you will ever meet, accommodating but not not overbearing. It really felt like the apartment was "ours" during our stay. She made sure we knew she was available for any questions or concerns we might have, opened her beautiful garden to us to enjoy on pleasant afternoons, and even invited us over to "her side" of the house once for a get together she was holding with friends. We weren't able to attend, but the invitation alone was appreciated. As for the room itself, it was clean and perfectly comfortable, modestly yet beautifully decorated, and fitted with every modern convenience you might need in a pinch. And the bed was super comfy too! The only even remotely negative thing I could say is that the smoke detector was located directly above the little kitchen area. And so with that, coupled with the fact that it is a smallish room, the alarm would go off whenever we would cook something on the hot plate or in the toaster oven. So we would just take down the detector and open the window when cooking. No big deal! So, if you are needing a bit of a longer term place to stay and are looking for an affordable alternative to an apartment lease or hotel, then this location is where you want to be! It's the perfect home away from home! September 25, 2016 Virginia Stirewalt (Guest)

Felt Like Home!~

This has been a perfect "home away from home" during my summer internship! The owner is very friendly and caring; even the neighbors are friendly. The booking and any questions I had were handled super quickly by Steve, Tracy, Alan, Katch - they make a great team. The studio itself is well cared for and has what you'd need for a longer stay and is clean, well maintained and you can see it's a well loved home. A big perk is there's a parking spot available too so I was able to drive around Virginia and travel to and from here by car. It's very close driving distance to Alexandria (about 10 -15 min) and Mt Vernon is a fairly short drive away as well. There's a shopping complex super close (.6 miles) that I went to a lot. It's really been a pleasure living here and hope to do so again when I visit Alexandria or DC! September 13, 2016 Mike (Guest)

Central location!

Cozy room in a nice central location for exploring the area. Alan was great in working things out with me when my plans got delayed due to a snow storm. Nina was accommodating and pleasant to interact with. Highly recommended if you're looking for a nice private place to stay at for a price that is reasonable for the area. Perfect place to stay for work around DC

I stayed here when I first moved to the DC area for work. It was a perfect place to move in to while getting adjusted to the area. The owner is extremely accommodating and the apartment has everything you need to be comfortable, as well as being in a safe and pleasant neighborhood with easy access to the beltway. Highly recommended. February 24, 2016 K. M. (Guest)

A lovely respite

I've stayed in the suite 2x while visiting my sister. Located in the lovely neighborhood of Rose Hill, this unit offers a quiet street to come home to after a long day. It offers all I needed to relax and recharge in the evening. The owner is gracious and helpful as well. I would definitely try to stay again the next time I stay in the area.
