Guests will enjoy this apartment with its great location just to the east of the United States Capitol. The 8th Street Apartment is a one bedroom English basement-level apartment in the Eastern Market neighborhood on Capitol Hill.
This one-bedroom apartment features a queen-size bed in the bedroom and a full-size sleeper sofa in the living room and can accommodate up to 3 guests. The bathroom with shower (no tub) is located off of the bedroom, and there is a galley-style kitchen – perfect for budget-minded travelers and those who would like to cook light meals and save on dining out for each meal.
The 8th Street Apartment offers easy access to all that Capitol Hill has for visitors to enjoy, and is approximately a 10-15 minute walk to the U.S. Capitol Building, Library of Congress, Supreme Court and the National Mall. The Eastern Market Blue/Orange line metro is a quick 5 minutes from this property as well, which can take you to many other locations throughout Washington D.C. with ease. The Eastern Market neighborhood features over 35 restaurants and one of the country’s oldest operating fresh food markets. Our guests enjoy browsing the famed Eastern Market area, especially on the weekends in good weather, when the farmers and flea market are in full swing. If your plan is to take a bike ride around the city, there are several Capital Bikeshare stations nearby!
Check in time is after 2:00 p.m. and check out is 11:00 a.m. promptly. In some cases, you may be able to arrange an earlier time for luggage drop off, please check with a reservation specialist.
Reserved off-street parking is available for an additional $20 per night, plus D.C. taxes.
Rates are seasonal with Spring and Fall being peak seasons for our area. A three-night minimum reservation is required at all times. Rates do not include a $75 cleaning fee, the 14.95% DC lodging taxes or the $10 reservation fee. All of our homes are smoke free. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate guest pets.

I stayed here for several weeks while interning in DC. It was absolutely perfect. The owner is a wonderful person who I am so grateful to have gotten to know. The unit has everything that anyone would possibly need. The neighborhood is perfect, walking distance to anything that one might need, including the metro. I highly recommend this wonderful apartment to anyone wanting to be in a beautiful neighborhood on The Hill!
We were in DC for a long weekend to 'see the sites' and this place was perfect for what we needed, we literally walked everywhere even though I think the metro was not far. Took about 20 minutes to walk to the Capital Building. A new Trader Joe's and lots of fun little restaurants not far either. Lou was a fabulous host, very welcoming and helpful. The apartment itself was fine - but it was a very basic basement apartment.
The apartment is in a great location, and has all the amenities you need except for a washing machine. There is a dryer, however, and the host will do laundry for you as required. The bathroom is a little small, but the shower is excellent. We would certainly stay here again.
